Rainbow Six Siege, a 9-year-old Ubisoft game, will be undergoing major gameplay upgrades and refinements, dubbed Rainbox Six Siege X. The reveal was announced by Ubisoft on February 17, 2025. More information about the game will be released in March 2025.
Rainbow Six Siege X showcase is scheduled for March 13, 2025, at 10:00 am (PDT) / 1:00 pm (EDT) in Atlanta, Georgia, featuring the drastic changes in store for the game. "This event promises to be an immersive and one-of-a-kind Siege experience, where players, creators, and developers come together as we unveil all the evolutions coming with Siege X, and many more surprises!"
Those who wanted to participate in the event in person must purchase a USD $10 ticket, including an exclusive long-sleeve shirt and an in-game cosmetic pack. However, interested fans must pass these three eligibility requirements:
⚫︎ Must be a legal resident of the USA and Canada
⚫︎ Must be at least 18 years old
⚫︎ Must have a good Rainbow Six Siege account (not banned or sanctioned)
Ubisoft is also giving away VIP packages for two lucky Rainbow Six fans, including a "hotel stay, roundtrip flight, and entry to the Showcase event!" This giveaway event is limited to legal residents of the USA and Canada as well.
This next update features "new ways to play, deepened tactical gameplay, refined game feel, and major upgrades all around." However, details surrounding these changes will be revealed in the upcoming showcase.
Rainbow Six Siege Upcoming 10th Year Anniversary
Rainbow Six Siege was originally released on December 1, 2015, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In 2020, the game was ported to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Throughout the years, Ubisoft has released numerous updates to the game, making it one of the longest-running live-service shooter games across different platforms. With the upcoming major update, it may extend the longevity of the Rainbow Six franchise.
In a Steam post on February 17, 2025, Ubisoft also revealed a new operator, Aurora, with the ability to deploy bulletproof doors. Additionally, the game is releasing a new elite skin for operator Aruni and a new reputation system that rewards or punishes players based on their behavior during a season. These new additions will be released in Season 1 of its 10th year, Operation Prep Phase, on March 4, 2025, in celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary.
Considering Season 10’s launch date and the showcase period for Rainbow Six Siege X, it seems that the major upgrades will be applied to the live servers at a later date.
