Pokemon GO Collaborates with MLB
Trainers Who Attend Themed MLB Games Will Receive Goodies
Pokémon GO announced its partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) on February 12, 2025. This collaboration adds "official club-branded" PokéStops and Gyms to some MLB ballparks, allowing spectators to play Pokémon GO while they watch live baseball games.
Trainers can expect the following from Pokemon GO when attending these themed ball games:
⚫︎ Club-branded merchandise
⚫︎ Exclusive in-game avatar items
⚫︎ Timed Research with Pokemon encounters as a reward
⚫︎ Raid Battles with a chance to catch Pokemon with exclusive Location Background
Starts on May 9, 2025 and Ends on September 7, 2025
Pokemon GO also announced the locations and dates for the following themed games. The collaboration starts with Cleveland Guardians on May 9, 2025, and ends with Texas Rangers on September 7, 2025. You can also check out Pokemon GO’s news website to know the full list of games.
Fans were quite excited about this collab, but some voiced concerns about why other MLB teams were left out. Others hope that Pokemon GO and MLB will add more club-branded PokeStops and Gyms in the future. However, some have expressed concern over the data connection during the event, pointing out that MLB games and other events tend to affect cellular data because of demand. Adding Pokemon GO to the mix might make data connection slower than ever.
