New Details To Be Shared On Death Stranding 2
Hideo Kojima Will Take The Stage At SXSW
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach (DS2) will appear at the upcoming South by Southwest (SXSW). The DS2 panel will be hosted by Kojima Productions led by Game Director Hideo Kojima, in collaboration with its publisher PlayStation.
According to the blog on Kojima Productions’ website on February 11, 2025, "At the Special Panel, Hideo Kojima will discuss and share new details about DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH." Additionally, Kojima Productions will have an exclusive pop-up shop at the event and will feature DS2 merchandise, and other exclusive items for SXSW. More information about the items will be announced soon.
The DS2 panel will be on March 9, 2025 at 4 PM CDT, and will take place at Ballroom D at SXSW in Austin, Texas. There will be a live stream for the panel but details will come soon.
Death Stranding 2 Received Age Rating In South Korea
DS2 received an age rating from the Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) in South Korea, published on February 6, 2025 on the official GRAC website. The game was determined as "not suitable for teenagers," similar to its predecessor Death Stranding 1.
According to GRAC, DS2 received the rating due to the game having excessive violent expressions such as gore and mutilated expressions during combat, excessive vulgar language, foul language, and profanity, and direct drug expressions such as smoking and drinking scenes being present in the game.
Hideo Kojima Hinted At A New Trailer For Death Stranding 2
DS2 could have a new trailer coming based on Kojima’s recent hints. Kojima posted on Twitter (X) on February 5, 2025 of him working on editing for something related to DS2. The post suggested that Kojima is creating a new trailer using video-editing software, as it read "It's been a year since I last sat down at the editor."
Kojima also posted another hint on February 7, 2025 which showed a short clip of a cutscene in DS2, with the caption "main sound mixing in London." This pushed speculations for a new trailer further as the most recent trailer for the game was on February 1, 2024, and fans have been eagerly waiting for a new trailer to drop.
Although there have been no official announcements, fans could potentially see DS2 showcased at the upcoming State of Play by PlayStation on February 12, 2025. Death Stranding 2 is set to release in 2025 with no specific release date announced.
