　⚫︎　After months of silence from Tempo Storm apart from a few balance patches, The Bazaar is finally commencing with its Open Beta Period, but not without immense backlash from the playerbase, as the game's new battle pass monetization goes against everything Tempo CEO Andrey Yunyuk promised in the lead up to the game's release.
　⚫︎　The Bazaar is getting a whole host of changes in its latest patch, Patch 0.1.6, including changes to its ranked mode, various balance changes for meta items, skills, monsters, and character specific items, as covered by Tempo Storm founder, Andrey Yunyuk.

　⚫︎　The Bazaar Devs Tempo Storm officially addresses the game's modding scene in an official Tweet on the game's official Twitter (X) page, saying that modding the game violates its End-User License Agreement, though they are currently in contact with a third-party for the creation of official community tools.

　⚫︎　The Bazaar releases its Patch 0.1.4 notes following a month-long development hiatus. The update introduces adjustments to the Level-Up System, removes a few game-breaking late-game vendors, and streamlines the overall experience of each run with newly balanced items and encounters.

The Bazaar Overview

The Bazaar is an upcoming free-to-play asynchronous strategy Hero Builder game developed by Tempo and created by former professional Hearthstone player Andrey Reynad Yunyuk.

Currently in Closed Beta as of October 30, 2024, the game is slated for full release on PC and Mac via its dedicated client launcher in January 2025. While support for iOS and Android is confirmed, release dates for these platforms have yet to be announced.

Although the full game will be free-to-play on release, its Open Beta build is only accessible to players who purchase any tier of the Founder's Pack, available on the game's official website.

In The Bazaar, players take the role of ambitious up-and-comers trying to make it big in the titular intergalactic marketplace by buying items, learning skills, making friends with merchants, and fighting other players in asynchronous auto-battles.

Every playthrough of The Bazaar is called a run, and each run is divided into Days and Hours, with each Hour presenting unique Encounters to enhance your strategy. Players can encounter Merchants offering powerful Items, random events with unexpected outcomes, AI-controlled creatures from the Bazaar, or asynchronous battles against other players’ builds.

Each playthrough weaves the story of your chosen character’s journey to power, as they accumulate gear, properties, influence, and prestige with every victory. Whether you reach the pinnacle depends on how skillfully you build your arsenal and how far you’re willing to go to claim your place at the top.

The Bazaar Gameplay

The Bazaar is an online, multiplayer, asynchronous “Hero Builder” where the goal is to craft a board full of synergistic Items. These items serve various purposes, from dealing damage to opponents, healing your health bar, or even disabling enemy items.

Each playthrough unfolds across several days, each split into hours. Each hour presents players with three events to choose from, such as merchants selling items, monsters to battle, events to tackle, or—at the end of each day—other players’ builds to face off against.

Regardless of the outcome, each playthrough rewards players based on their performance, with prizes scaling by the number of wins against other player builds, capped at a maximum of 10 victories.

What sets The Bazaar apart from other strategy games, auto-battlers, and hero-builders like Hearthstone, Legends of Runeterra, or DOTA Underlords is its asynchronous combat system. Each player’s build is recorded at certain points and later used by the game’s AI to face other players, allowing players to take as much time as they need to plan and strategize.

Vanessa

Vanessa hails from the island nation of Pelagos, where she and her loyal crew have been resisting a brutal tyrant who recently seized control of their homeland. She’s come to The Bazaar to rally resources and gather allies, and she’s not afraid to use intimidation or cunning to get what she needs. In The Bazaar, Vanessa embodies pure aggression and dominance, and her playstyle mirrors this intense approach.

Pygmalien

Not much is known about Pygmalien’s backstory, but his gameplay style has been a focal point in recent balance patches due to his impressive stat-ramping potential. Unlike other contenders, Pygmalien’s strategy in The Bazaar revolves around accumulating wealth and bolstering his strength over time, rather than relying solely on weapon damage.

Dooley

Though Dooley takes the spotlight as the protagonist of The Bazaar’s main trailers, their backstory remains largely mysterious. What we do know is that Dooley’s playstyle is shaped by their robotic nature, allowing them to integrate with other robots around The Bazaar and evolve through upgrades centered on their core.

Unrevealed Heroes

The Bazaar’s roster of heroes goes far beyond the trio introduced in the Closed Beta—Vanessa, Pygmalien, and Dooley. While these three offer a glimpse into the diversity of playstyles available, the rest of the roster remains a mystery. So far, only a few teasers and hints have surfaced, fueling fan theories about potential character builds and abilities.
