Die in the Dungeon Overview
Die in the Dungeon is a deck-building, turn-based roguelite game by developer ATICO and published by HypeTrain Digital, set for Early Access release on February 21, 2025, then aiming for a full release sometime in 2026 after approximately a year of Early Access. This iteration of Die in the Dungeon is the definitive version of the game, coming after the free-to-play prologue Die in the Dungeon: Origins and Die in the Dungeon: CLASSIC.
Players will step into one of three brave warriors’ shoes as they delve deeper into a mysterious dungeon, armed with their trusty deck of magical dice. Mix and match a wide variety of dice to your liking and empower yourself with powerful relics that you find as you traverse through the dungeon’s halls.
Die in the Dungeon Gameplay
Die in the Dungeon is a deck-building, turn-based roguelite that makes use of dice instead of cards in combat. Each dice represents a certain action or play, ranging from basic attacks and healing to buffs such as adding to another dice’s value or mirroring another’s ability. As areas get progressively harder to clear, dice can be upgraded or discarded for more optimized decks. Players will also be able to collect or purchase powerful relics that aid in battles, making clearing areas faster and easier.
Die in the Dungeon Reviews
Addictive And Fun Dice Game
While the release build of Die in the Dungeon is yet to be reviewed in full, its previous iterations received positive receptions. NAG Magazine praised the demo for its wildly unpredictable but fun mechanics that keep the game from feeling stale, and that it can be endlessly addictive. PCGamesN also shared that they’ve had a blast with the demo and now they’re looking forward to the game’s eventual release.
The free-to-play prologue, Die in the Dungeon: Origins, holds an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating across 3,349 reviews on its now delisted Steam page. Players shared that despite being a short demo, it was enjoyable, intuitive, and that the gameplay was easy to learn, but hard to master, providing just enough challenge.
